Visual beauty and inspiration in books. With our roots in graphic design we were always searching for it, but satisfying our needs wasn’t easy. So we built ourselves MENDO. We opened our Amsterdam based flagship store for visual beauty and inspiration in 2002, we’ve been active as an online store since 2012 and now we’re doing what only comes naturally: create jaw-dropping MENDO books.

Today, people are experiencing an information overload. Having an opinion, and creating a personal identity isn’t actually all that easy anymore. Where bookstores used to be a reliable reference, they are now struggling to cope with the digital era, often finding themselves trapped in trying to offer “it all”. With their inability to make choices, they lose their role as a landmark for personal identification and inspiration. This calls for curatorship and tangibility.

Three pillars


Since 2002, MENDO has evolved into an authority and a curator of creative books for both the consumer and the business-to-business market. MENDO derives its existence to three strong pillars, being a well-balanced curated collection of creative books, a personal approach and a stunning environment designed by Concrete Architectural Associates.

The last years have demonstrated that people trust MENDO to get the latest and finest in photography, fashion, traveling, lifestyle, culinary books, interior & architecture and graphic design, and lastly a unique selection of collector’s editions, on display in our store. These carefully selected, visually stunning and lasting publications are what people identify with – in fact, they help them to define what they are truly passionate about.
