Elevating timeless elegance and aesthetic minimalism
Publisher portrait: 1605 Collective
Behind every book your eyes devour, is a driving force that produced it. A unique team orchestrating the elements of a print-making project, bringing it to live. One such publisher – with a distinct curatorial eye for timeless elegance and aesthetic minimalism – is 1605 Collective.
Founded in 2021 by award-winning photographer Bastiaan Woudt, 1605 moves between the realms of art, photography, architecture and design. Backed by conceptual director Janneke and content manager Alex Blanco, they create a stage for talent that deserves to be seen and celebrated.
‘To me, it's about moving people with timeless images and an aesthetic that brings about a calm that's hardly experienced in our chaotic, contemporary world.’
Their books are thick and lush, luxuriously bound and printed on high-quality paper to elevate its content. Often produced in limited quantities, 1605 titles bring a myriad of beauty and inspiration with every page. Each exuding a unique energy, while staying truthful to their editorial signature and quality.

‘I hope people take the time to enjoy the tangibility of our work, and see the love and passion we pour into our craft.’
