Our book The Workshop got the party it deserved
Book launched at Guillaume Philibert's Filling Pieces in Amsterdam
Last Wednesday we celebrated the launch of The Workshop - the book we created with Renée Leeuw, Iris Duvekot and Roomed.
The first week of May is traditionally one of contemplation, and celebration of freedom. MENDO added an extra festive moment – on Wednesday night, the third of May, we celebrated the launch of The Workshop – our latest initiative and design, on Dutch creatives and their workspaces, created with Renée Leeuw, Iris Duvekot and Roomed. For the launch one of the participants of the book, Guillaume Philibert, opened the doors of his workshop at Filling Pieces in Amsterdam.
The entire selection of images can be found on MENDO’s Facebook page.

Thanks to all who joined us – including many of those who were portrayed for the book, such as Nienke Hoogvliet, Chris Dekker, Borre Akkersdijk, Laser 3.14 (or so they say), Ans Markus, Renee Mennen, Stefanie van Keijsteren, Mart Visser, Mae Engelgeer, Pieters Schmits, Rebecca Geskus, Jason Denham, Aart van Asseldonk, Nicemakers, Martijn Smulders.
Thanks to the Gideon Tazelaar trio for the lovely tunes.
A massive ty for Warsteiner and Jack Daniels for spicing up the conversations.
And merci to resident dj Guillaume Philibert for taking the party to the next level at late hours.
If you like to see all the images from the book launch at Filling Pieces, visit MENDO’s Facebook page.
The Workshop opens doors which normally remain closed. The doors to the ateliers, studios and workspaces of famous names such as Erwin Olaf, Ans Markus and Mart Visser, and new creatives such as Mae Engelgeer, Borre Akkersdijk and Guillaume Philibert.
The result is a unique and intimate portrait, in both image and word, of driven personalities and the environments in which they are at once most vulnerable and at their strongest—where they experiment, discover and seek until something comes into being which did not exist before.
