Sunny Jansen
In light of Amsterdam Pride, we've asked mover and shaker Sunny Jansen to curate this edition of visual inspiration.
Since the 90s, Sunny Jansen has been a pioneering voice in creating visibility for trans women of color – like herself. When the Dutch fashion-cum-lifestyle magazine AVENUE put her on the cover, she dubbed herself ‘Covergirl Sunny’; a name she would become commonly known by. A journey that would lead her into being featured on TV, international runways, movies, music videos and more.
Fast forward to today, and she’s works as a PR manager for Daily Paper – and deejays at festivals and events.
Her selection for MENDO has an emphasis on fashion, a world where she feels accepted and endlessly inspired by.

Grace: Thirty Years of Fashion at Vogue
My mother always bought French and Italian issues of VOGUE when I was young, and introduced me into the world of fashion. This book is a feast of recognition: I recall seeing many of these photographs.
