Made by MENDOAbout the books
Who will recognize a great book better than a bookstore? A bookstore run by graphic designers. Here’s why: at MENDO we get market feedback seven days a week, we are blessed to be surrounded by a bunch of talented, inspiring people – photographers, writers and publishers – and after being a bookstore for more than 15 years, we can easily say we know what book aficionados are looking for. Don’t you agree that initiating, creating and realizing jaw-dropping books now, only comes natural?
A MENDO publication is a well-designed book with visually stunning creative content, browsed by people to be amazed and inspired. The subject-matter is one of our pre-defined curated categories, fashion, photography, interior, sport, lifestyle, food and traveling. In general, a MENDO book is a piece of furniture in itself.
A visual amplification of Anton Corbijn's impact on the world’s biggest cult band
This Collector’s Edition features a multitude of off-the-cuff, candid images; and stunning live shots from all of Depeche Mode’s tours since 1988. In addition to the photographs, there are sketches and designs for stage sets and album covers, Corbijn’s handwritten captions throughout the book, placing the reader right in the middle of the shoot, and an extended interview with the Dutch master.
‘A lot of it came down to me, and I wanted it to be right for them. I wanted to think for them. To be great for them.’
Created with the full collaboration of the band, who also share some insights on working with Corbijn, Depeche Mode by Anton Corbijn trumpets how one man’s original and unforgettable visuals helped shape the band’s enduring popularity. This book is a celebration of one of the most creative and enduring collaborations in rock history.
'From the first photo sessions and videos, we had no reason to doubt his ideas.'
