Made by MENDO
About the booksWho will recognize a great book better than a bookstore? A bookstore run by graphic designers. Here’s why: at MENDO we get market feedback seven days a week, we are blessed to be surrounded by a bunch of talented, inspiring people – photographers, writers and publishers – and after being a bookstore for more than 15 years, we can easily say we know what book aficionados are looking for. Don’t you agree that initiating, creating and realizing jaw-dropping books now, only comes natural?
A MENDO publication is a well-designed book with visually stunning creative content, browsed by people to be amazed and inspired. The subject-matter is one of our pre-defined curated categories, fashion, photography, interior, sport, lifestyle, food and traveling. In general, a MENDO book is a piece of furniture in itself.
The most comprehensive account of Ibiza’s rave history to date
IDEA & MENDO
IDEA, publisher of this book, is currently not shipping to the EU because of Brexit and import and duty charges customers are confronted with. For this publication MENDO is IDEA’s preferred partner in Europe. We will take your order and ship to you.
The fashion is all Euroclash peach and purple patterns (and a few white suits). Famous faces as Boy George celebrates his birthday at the opening party for Amnesia. Best way to visit Ibiza – in a time machine.
Dave Swindells and IDEA Books latest venture aims to get us out of that festival-missing funk by making us live vicariously through those coming up from the Second Summer of Love in Ibiza, at the backend of the 1980s. Rave had hit the island like a tropical storm at the time, birthing the Balearic sounds that would go on to inspire trance, happy hardcore and chilled electro beats we all know and groove to today.
After originally selling a selection of these iconic photographs in the ultra-rare and out-of-print Spirit of Ibiza ‘89, Swindells and IDEA both decided the rest of his archive deserved its time in the spotlight too. Now complete with text from the original Time Out piece, a foreword from Terry Farley (Boy’s Own), and a ton more pictures, the duo has structured the most comprehensive account of Ibiza’s rave history to date.
