Made by MENDO
About the booksWho will recognize a great book better than a bookstore? A bookstore run by graphic designers. Here’s why: at MENDO we get market feedback seven days a week, we are blessed to be surrounded by a bunch of talented, inspiring people – photographers, writers and publishers – and after being a bookstore for more than 15 years, we can easily say we know what book aficionados are looking for. Don’t you agree that initiating, creating and realizing jaw-dropping books now, only comes natural?
A MENDO publication is a well-designed book with visually stunning creative content, browsed by people to be amazed and inspired. The subject-matter is one of our pre-defined curated categories, fashion, photography, interior, sport, lifestyle, food and traveling. In general, a MENDO book is a piece of furniture in itself.
Sneaker Freaker Issue #44
Sneaker Freaker is back with Issue 44. The cover story is the Virgil Abloh-designed Louis Vuitton X408. Inspired by Terminator 2, L.A. Gear, Converse Fastbreaks and Billie Jean, the brutal high-tops feature intricate fibre-optics that light up with the press of a button. As a special bonus, this issue features a holographic rainbow LV logo effect!
The X408 concept is detailed in a 20-page Virgil Abloh feature, which also covers everything from his ‘debut’ in Sneaker Freaker Issue 3 to why he signed Lucien Clarke to a Louis Vuitton skate deal.
Virgil isn’t the only renowned designer in the issue. Sneaker Freaker also sat down with AMBUSH® co-founder Yoon Ahn, as well as Versace’s VP of Sneakers and Men’s Footwear Salehe Bembury, to find out more about their come-ups and what they’ve got in store for 2021.
And that’s just half of it! The back portion of the mag is a tribute to the pioneers who helped lay the foundations for contemporary sneaker culture. Neal Heard caught up with the lads from The Duffer of St George, who raided sports stores across Europe and America and sold the spoils through their London store in the late 80s.
